Läkarmissionen is a member of a number of important network relevant to our operations.
CHS Alliance
The CHS Alliance is a global alliance of more than 150 member organisations working in the humanitarian and development sector committed to making aid work better for people. The common belief is that organisations deliver higher quality, more effective aid when they are accountable to the people they serve. The Alliance was formed in 2015 by bringing together the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) International, which focused on accountability to affected people, and People in Aid, which focused on people management in the humanitarian aid and development sectors. The Alliance is headquartered in Geneva and maintain a presence in London..
CONCORD
Läkarmissionen is a member of CONCORD Sweden, a network of more than fifty Swedish civil society organisations. The goal of the network is to advocate foreign aid policy issues in an EU context, as well as to strengthen the knowledge of member organizations and their ability to apply for grants from the EU. CONCORD Sweden also monitors Swedish policies in this field to ensure that they become more coherent and contribute to global development and poverty reduction.
EU-CORD
EU-CORD is a network of 22 Christian organisations in the EU member countries. Its aim is also to influence the focus of EU foreign aid, disseminate knowledge about the EU’s role as an aid stakeholder and increase the ability of its members to apply for EU funding. Läkarmissionen participates in the management committee of and contributes to the continuous development and relevance of the network. This network includes a large number of competent collaborative partners that contribute significantly to Läkarmissionen’s capacity to respond quickly in the event of humanitarian disasters around the world.
IAS-Alliance
Since the merger with IAS, Läkarmissionen is part of the IAS Alliance (IAS Denmark, IAS Germany and IAS USA), a network active in mobilising resources for the projects run by the country offices.
SNHA - Swedish Network for Humanitarian Actors
SNHA is a network comprising of Swedish civil society organisations engaged in humanitarian work and welcomes membership by organisations working in accordance with The Code of Conduct developed by ICRC.
The network aims, among others, to contribute to improved Swedish humanitarian aid; provide scope for discussion and exchange of experience on humanitarian aid; and be able to act as a dialogue platform in relation to Sida, the Foreign Ministry and other actors in humanitarian issues.
SNKR - Swedish Network for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience
A network of Swedish civil society organisations involved in humanitarian and development assistance, with focus on disaster risk reduction and resilience issues. The network is also open to the participation of authorities, universities, research institutes and other relevant actors as members or guests.
The overall goal is to contribute to improved Swedish humanitarian and development aid through better understanding of benefits of disaster risk-reducing efforts to create resilient societies. The network provides scope for discussion and learning; strengthens synergies and capacity development in disaster risk reduction; and if necessary also serves as a dialogue platform in relation to Sida and the Foreign Ministry in the field of disaster risk reduction and resilience.
Swedish Mission Council (SMC)
Läkarmissionen is a member of the Swedish Mission Council (Svenska Missionsrådet). SMC channels Sida 1) funding to its member organisations for aid projects abroad and is an important forum for Swedish organisations with Christian values. The network currently includes 33 organisations under its umbrella. 1) The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
VOICE
VOICE stands for "Voluntary Organisations in Cooperation in Emergencies" and is an NGO network promoting effective humanitarian aid worldwide since 1992. VOICE is the main NGO interlocutor with the European Union on emergency aid and disaster risk reduction, and it promotes the values of its 85 member organisations. VOICE works to promote the European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid. To improve the effectiveness of its advocacy, VOICE builds alliances with other humanitarian actors e.g. the UN and the Red Cross movement. VOICE also seeks to build bridges between humanitarian aid and development by providing expertise on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Linking Relief Rehabilitation and Development (LRRD).
Giva Sverige (the Swedish Fundraising Association)
The professional membership body for fundraising organisations in Sweden, Giva Sverige, has nearly 160 member organisations representing a broad range of Swedish civil society. Their Code of Quality and impact report are instrumental in maintaining a high level of credibility for fundraising organisations as a whole, but Giva also offers the opportunity to interact on a number of issues in which a united voice carries more weight.
